Linguistic validation required for international students

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

For a first admission in the first year of higher education (except BTS, DUT and preparatory classes), one of the following tests is required:

 of France Education International (former CIEP)
Compulsory for candidates for whom the  applies, if they do not have the DELF B2 or DALF.

 of the Paris Ile-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP) 

 of France Education International (former CIEP)


OTHER CASES

Universities are free to choose their recruitment criteria in the following cases:
1) admission in first year (L1) for the students for whom the does not apply :
holders of a  Secondary school final exam obtained through Francophone channels,
holders of a Secondary school final exam obtained in the European Union,
children of diplomats based in France
students enrolling for a second time in French higher education.

2) admission in the other university courses:
É«»¨Ìà takes into account the following tests/diplomas:
the  level 4 of France Education International (former CIEP)
the  of France Education International (former CIEP)
the  of the Alliance Française
the  of the Paris Ile-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP)
the Diplôme Universitaire d'Etudes Françaises (DUEF) level B2 offered by French as a Foreign Language university centers

Each department has specific linguistic requirements, please refer to the degree description sheet for more details.

The DUEF B1 and the DUEF B2 are taken into account by the different assessment mechanisms of É«»¨Ìà and may be considered for the application. This does not mean that the admission is guaranteed: it depends on the level and content of the student's university degrees, the adequacy of his/her request for the training offered by the university, and the number of seats available.

Some departments have decided that foreign students seeking validation of higher education must have a minimum level of French language proficiency to enable them to pursue their studies. Please check with the different faculties.
